Houston Celebrates National Homeownership Month with a Parade of Affordable Homes

National Homeownership Month is observed each June to highlight the vital role homeownership plays in improving lives, creating economic opportunities and strengthening America’s neighborhoods.

In celebration of National Homeownership Month, Houston HOPE – a City of Houston initiative promoting neighborhood reinvestment through revitalization, homeownership and infrastructure investments – is hosting a Parade of Homes and numerous homeownership workshops.

The Houston Hope Parade of Homes will feature over 35 affordable homes ready for quick move-in. Home prices range from $90,000 – $160,000, and qualified buyers may receive up to $30,000 in down payment assistance. The Parade of Homes will take place on:

Saturday, June 4 11am – 5pm

Sunday, June 5 12pm – 4pm

Saturday, June 11 11am – 5pm

Sunday, June 12 12pm – 4pm

These Houston HOPE homes are located in some of Houston’s most historic neighborhoods within close proximity to major thoroughfares, employers and activity centers. Saturday, June 4 Catholic Charities – Homeownership Class 2900 Louisiana Street, Houston 77006 11:30am – 12:30pm

Tuesday, June 21 Mt. Canaan Baptist Church Summer Festival and Fair 6001 Selinsky Road, Houston, TX 77048 2pm – 6pm

Saturday, June 25 Gulf Coast Community Services Association, Inc. – Homeownership Fair, 9320 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX 77054 9:30am – 2:30pm
