Fun Things to do in Dallas During the Summer

There is no shortage of fantastic and fun things to do during a summer in Dallas. Whether you want to experience the many outdoor attractions Dallas has to offer or cool down in one of Dallas’ many museums, your summer is sure to be jam-packed with fun if you spend it in Dallas.
- Dallas Arts District – If you are looking for fun things to do in Dallas during the summer, look no further than the Dallas Arts District. This area, which is 19 blocks long, is home to a plethora of festivals and performances throughout the summer, and is a great place to go to experience the best in Dallas art and culture. Some of the sites you may want to visit include: the Dallas Museum of Art, the Crow Collection of Asian Art, the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, and the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
- Fountain Place – Fountain Place is a beautiful, 1.2 million-square-foot office tower that features vibrant flowers, waterfalls, 172 fountains and an amazing, central fountain. In fact, the central fountain is one of the most complex fountains, as it is comprised of 360 computer-driven water jets. This fountain should be on your list of things to see this summer, as it has received international recognition.
- Downtown Dallas – Take a walk through downtown Dallas this summer and catch sight of some of the 300 pieces of public art on display there. Some of the works are by world renowned artists, and some are local artists who have achieved international recognition for their work. A number of art displays are located in public parks and pedestrian corridors. The City of Dallas provides maps for self-guided tours.
- Irving Arts Center – There is never a lack of things to do when you head to the Irving Arts Center. This beautiful facility features two, state-of-the-art theaters, four galleries and a sculpture garden. In addition, the Irving Arts center, which is a Smithsonian affiliate, offers daily exhibits, so a trip here is always well worth your time if you’re looking for fun things to do in Dallas during the summer.
